Dr. Allen O. is a board-certified psychiatrist with over 34 years of clinical experience and more than two decades of leadership as the Clinical Director of the University of North Carolina’s Counseling and Psychological Services. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude from Wake Forest University and his Doctor of Medicine degree with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his psychiatry residency and a fellowship in Psychiatric Hospital Administration at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Allen O.’s career reflects a deep commitment to academic psychiatry, student mental health, and interdisciplinary collaboration. During his 23-year tenure in university counseling center leadership, he built and led a highly regarded, multidisciplinary mental health program serving a diverse and complex population.
