While at the VA for the past 17 years, collaboration with NPs was ongoing and quite fun! My approach is collegial and respectful. My experience has been extensive and has included inpatient, outpatient, ER, consultation-liaison and crisis. While at the VA, patients with trauma, substance, anxiety and mood disorders were my main focus. Most of my patients were Vietnam veterans with lots of other medical illnesses. Prior to the VA, I worked 15 years serving the SMI population at a community clinic. And prior to this, I worked at the Indiana University School of Medicine​/​Dept of Psychiatry teaching and serving patients at the city hospital.
