Dr. Michael M. is a highly experienced psychiatrist and addiction medicine specialist with nearly 30 years of expertise across inpatient, outpatient, residential, and community mental health settings. His career began in 1995, collaborating with Advanced Nurse Practitioners in rural mental health clinics in Hawaii, and he has since dedicated his work to improving behavioral health care, chronic pain management, and substance use disorder treatment. Currently, Dr. Michael M. serves as the Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services for Ohana Health Plan, overseeing care for thousands of Medicaid-eligible adults with severe mental illness (SMI/SPMI). He is also the Founder and Medical Director of Recovery Enhanced Medicine Institute (REMI) and Virtual Pain Recovery, offering innovative, multimodal intensive outpatient programs (IOP) for individuals struggling with chronic pain and substance use disorders.
