Hello, I'm Alexandra W.

Aloha, I am a board-certified psychiatrist and passionate about holistic, community-based care. I was previously a medical director at a VA psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery center and loved that providers of many different specialties came together to help the patients. During this position I worked closely with nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, physician assistants, and many types of therapists on a daily basis. Most recently I worked with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and collaborated with PCPs, Infectious Disease doctors, and therapists within the organization to help our patients. I have been practicing telepsychiatry exclusively since the pandemic and am now very comfortable with on-screen working relationships. I am currently licensed in Florida and have been living in Hawaii for the past few years. I have a strong background in public health and expanding access to healthcare on a population level has always been important to me, which is one reason I am an enthusiastic proponent of collaborative care, as so many more patients can be helped this way. In my personal life I enjoy raising my family of four daughters, four dogs, and five cats. I love music, dancing, acting, art, reading, traveling, and being surrounded by nature. I also love that collaborative care nurtures relationships among providers and creates a community of support for individual patients.
