Dr. Cheryl M. is an ABPN board-certified psychiatrist in General Psychiatry and Consult-Liaison Psychiatry with over 20 years of clinical, academic, and leadership experience across a wide range of psychiatric care settings. She is a nationally recognized physician leader, educator, and mentor who has dedicated her career to expanding access to high-quality psychiatric care through collaborative, integrated, and team-based models. Her experience includes inpatient, outpatient, emergency services, academic medical centers, telepsychiatry, and value-based care systems.
As a collaborating physician, she is actively involved in supporting and meeting the needs of her NPs. She is very open to working with newly graduated NPs and recommends weekly brief meetings to help build confidence and experience. She also holds weekly case conferences for the group of NPs she collaborates with, along with dedicated times each week when she is available for real-time questions. In addition, all NPs are welcome to contact her on her personal cell phone 24/7 in case of emergencies.
Dr. Cheryl M. has extensive experience supervising and collaborating with nurse practitioners, physician assistants, residents, fellows, and medical students, and she has played a key role in developing psychiatric NP clinical training sites throughout her career. She has a particular interest in complex patients with medical comorbidities, geriatric psychiatry, psychiatric emergencies, and consultation-liaison psychiatry. Known for her depth of clinical knowledge and teaching-oriented approach, she enjoys case-based discussion and is available for both individual and group case consultations.
