Dr. Pushpa Y. is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and accomplished clinician-educator with more than two decades of experience delivering comprehensive primary care across diverse healthcare systems in the United States and internationally. She currently serves as a Faculty Physician at Community Healthcare Network in Long Island City, New York, where she provides outpatient care to patients of all ages and precepts Family Medicine residents. Her work reflects a strong commitment to clinical excellence, medical education, and community-centered care.
Dr. Pushpa Y. earned her medical degree from People’s Friendship University of Russia in 2002 and completed her Family Medicine residency at BronxCare Health System in 2024. She further strengthened her inpatient expertise through a Hospital Medicine Fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Prior to her U.S. residency training, she practiced for over 20 years as a primary care physician in Nepal, American Samoa, and the Marshall Islands, serving medically underserved and resource-limited communities.
Throughout her career, Dr. Pushpa Y. has provided full-spectrum family medicine, including preventive care, chronic disease management, women’s health, prenatal and postpartum care, newborn care, minor procedures, and emergency services. She has played leadership roles during public health crises, including Zika, dengue, and chikungunya outbreaks, and has contributed to professional education through multiple regional and international presentations. Fluent in English, Nepali, Hindi, Russian, and several other languages, she brings cultural competence and accessibility to her clinical practice.
