Dr. David L. is a board-certified Internal Medicine physician with over three decades of combined clinical experience as both a Physician Assistant (PA-C) and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine. His diverse career spans emergency medicine, hospital medicine, urgent care, family medicine, college health, and disability evaluations. Beginning his medical career as a PA in a small community with limited specialist access, Dr. David L. developed a strong foundation in hands-on, comprehensive patient care. This early experience continues to shape his practical, adaptable, and team-oriented approach to medicine. Dr. David L. completed his medical education followed by a rotational internship in Cambridge, Massachusetts and Allentown, Pennsylvania, and went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency in Providence, Rhode Island. He has successfully passed both Osteopathic (DO) and Allopathic (MD) licensing examinations and has been board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine since 1998. His clinical background includes service in Army Emergency Medicine, Level II emergency departments in Boston, as well as extensive work in hospital medicine, urgent care, walk-in clinics, and college health services. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. David L. has held leadership and academic roles, including serving as Director of Medical Education for medical students and interns and as an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine. He currently serves as a part-time Medical Director at a college in California, where he develops treatment protocols and provides oversight for registered nurses and nurse practitioners in the campus clinic. His early career as a PA and his experience training an NP reflect his longstanding commitment to supporting and mentoring advanced practice providers. Although now retired from full-time clinical practice, Dr. David L. remains actively engaged in supporting Nurse Practitioners and contributing his extensive knowledge and experience to collaborative care settings.
