His clinical expertise spans PTSD, traumatic brain injury, psychosis, substance use disorders, personality disorders, and ADHD. A decorated U.S. Army combat veteran, Dr. Casas served as Battalion and Brigade Surgeon during Operation Enduring Freedom and later held senior roles in the VA system, including Chief Psychiatrist for nationally recognized PTSD treatment programs. He completed his psychiatry residency at Baylor College of Medicine and holds a Master of Legal Studies in Healthcare Law from Texas A&M University. His academic contributions include supervising medical trainees, lecturing nationally on psychopharmacology, PTSD, and combat mental health, and co-authoring chapters in Oxford Press' Fundamentals of HIV Medicine. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Casas is certified in ECT, ketamine therapy, and buprenorphine treatment, and currently practices in New York City.
