In some states, NPs may have limits on Schedule II prescribing. When clinically appropriate and legally permitted, the collaborating physician may issue Schedule II prescriptions as the prescriber of record (or comply with any state-specific delegation limits). This reflects additional physician responsibility and documentation. No prescription is guaranteed. I’m a board-certified psychiatrist with more than 30 years of experience, with a clinical focus on treating adolescents and adults who present with complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions. My work centers on helping individuals with mood disorders, trauma-related symptoms, cognitive and behavioral challenges, especially when neurological or developmental factors complicate these. I prioritize evidence-based care that’s also deeply personal, culturally aware, and grounded in empathy. I regularly manage challenging cases that require careful diagnostic work and close collaboration across various disciplines. I utilize tools such as quantitative electroencephalography (qEEG), neuroimaging, and structured assessments to gain a better understanding of brain-behavior relationships and to guide treatment decisions. My practice encompasses medication management, psychotherapy, family support, and consultation in both clinical and forensic settings. I am known for providing thoughtful, individualized care that balances evidence-based treatment with deep empathy and cultural sensitivity. Frequently, I address complex cases that necessitate coordination among multiple specialties, including those related to traumatic brain injury, treatment-resistant depression, and functional impairments. I integrate tools like qEEG, neuroimaging, and structured psychiatric assessments to inform my clinical decision-making. Additionally, I offer ongoing psychotherapy, medication management, family guidance, and consultation in both clinical and legal contexts. THIS LISTING IS ONLY FOR NP'S THAT NEED A PHYSICIAN TO PROVIDE SCHEDULE II PRESCRIPTION ASSISTANCE IN MISSOURI.

After more than 20 years of experience working across a variety of settings - outpatient, inpatient, residential, IOP, consultation, correctional, and school-based care, I’ve become disenchanted by the “chemical imbalance” narrative and disease model of psychiatry I was trained in. It started with paying attention to the “this doesn’t feel right” response I had when writing the occasional prescription. It continued with really listening to the many patients who hadn’t been helped by trial after trial of medications. I started asking more challenging questions of myself, about how I respond to patients asking for help, and how I might engage in deeper inquiry with my patients about what they actually need. A bright high schooler could probably do a decent job of “medication management”, but to prescribe thoughtfully and responsibly requires more, and I have found that those with a nursing background understand this better than many physicians. It may include discussing the meanings of having a mental illness and of taking of medications; having real conversations about what medications can and cannot provide; and approaching medications as a thoroughly considered, time-limited, intervention that is only one aspect of “getting better”. My practice is dedicated to reducing and repairing the harms caused by medical and mental health treatment, often focusing on medication tapering, especially with benzodiazepines and difficult-to-discontinue antidepressants. It begins with a thorough assessment, often reconsidering and reframing diagnosis from a depathologizing perspective. The role of trauma and chronic stress has often been medicalized and attributed as psychiatric illness. Lifestyle factors need to be truly taken into consideration. Then, I appreciate having actual conversations, not one or two rushed sentences, about risks and benefits of medication treatment. Respectfully and methodically working through existing polypharmacy is something I find patients appreciate and have been waiting for a prescriber to finally address. If medication reductions are considered, when needed I utilize tapering methods including compounded custom doses or liquid medication, hyperbolic dose reductions patterns and microtapering. My hope is to collaborate with NPs who are comfortable with resisting the pressure to medicalize and medicate justifiable emotions, and instead hope to help patients find sustainable, long-term well-being. If you’re looking for a collaborating physician who values thoughtful, individualized care over cookie cutter prescribing, I’d be happy to meet. NO DISCOUNT FOR MULTIPLE NPS PRESCRIBING SCHEDULE II

Aloha, I am a board-certified psychiatrist and passionate about holistic, community-based care. I was previously a medical director at a VA psychosocial rehabilitation and recovery center and loved that providers of many different specialties came together to help the patients. During this position I worked closely with nurse practitioners, psychologists, social workers, physician assistants, and many types of therapists on a daily basis. Most recently I worked with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation and collaborated with PCPs, Infectious Disease doctors, and therapists within the organization to help our patients. I have been practicing telepsychiatry exclusively since the pandemic and am now very comfortable with on-screen working relationships. I am currently licensed in Florida and have been living in Hawaii for the past few years. I have a strong background in public health and expanding access to healthcare on a population level has always been important to me, which is one reason I am an enthusiastic proponent of collaborative care, as so many more patients can be helped this way. In my personal life I enjoy raising my family of four daughters, four dogs, and five cats. I love music, dancing, acting, art, reading, traveling, and being surrounded by nature. I also love that collaborative care nurtures relationships among providers and creates a community of support for individual patients.
